Aleah’s At-Home Graduation Goes Viral!

Aleah’s TikTok video of her At-Home graduation has been shared by several social media platforms, including Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Good News Movement and Reach Higher (created by Michelle Obama).

On May 7th, 2020, Aleah officially graduated with her MFA in Acting from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With her graduation ceremony being cancelled due to COVID-19, Aleah still wanted to celebrate her achievement of earning her MFA and becoming a professional performer. She made plans to do so with her family. What she thought was going to be a simple day of pictures in her cap and gown turned into a full at-home ceremony led by her father. Her family put on their graduate regalia (her father in his Doctorate regalia, and her mother and brother in their Master’s, respectively) and celebrated her accordingly.
